Remembering Hawa Jibril


Hawa Jibril (1920 – 2011), beloved Somali poet, who lived in Toronto in her later years and whose life and poetry (as shared and translated by her daughter Faduma Ahmed Alim) inspired Jumblies’ 2007 production of Bridge of One Hair, and whose book of poetry was publishd by Jumblies Press in 2008, is featured on the blog of Jumblies’ friends at COPA, as part of a series of portraits for African History Month.
