summer 2021
Summer 2021 with Jumblies:
Jumblies has continued to make art with people through COVID times, mixing online and real-life activities. We are taking a bit of a summer break, and will be back in the fall, with live activities at The Ground Floor and elsewhere as soon as possible. Meanwhile: We have a wonderful window arts exhibit up at The Ground Floor until August 9th - APART AND PARCEL. Swing by and check it out if in Toronto. It's also viewable online for those who aren't. Our main current project is Grounds for Goodness, an artful exploration of how and why people sometimes behave in good ways towards each other. This theme weaves through many workshops, partnerships and projects, and will culminate in a presentation of new works at the Small Arms Inspection Building in February 2022. A new multi-year project, blue skies, red earth & tall pines, led by Sharada Eswar, is launching this summer with community workshops and podcasts. Our Talking Treaties team (Ange Loft, Victoria Freeman, Martha Stiegman and others) are creating a book - the Treaty Guide for Toronto - and a new dance film (Dish Dances) for the 2nd Toronto Biennial of Art Spring 2022. Please contact us to find out how to take part, what else is coming up, or just to say hello: info@jumbliestheatre.org. Heartfelt thanks to funders who generously and flexibly supported us through the pandemic, including: the Canada Council for the Arts, Ontario Arts Council, Toronto Arts Council, Ontario Trillium Foundation, Toronto Foundation, Hal Jackman Foundation and Metcalf Foundation!
