Internships

Jumblies internships are open to artists from all disciplines, traditions, career stages and parts in Canada. Initial internships last from 2 to 3 months and can sometimes be extended for a longer period.

Our internship process involves:

  • taking part in the Arts4All Essentials orientation course;

  • shadowing and assisting Jumblies artists in workshops and activities with a variety of projects and participating groups;

  • contributing and participating in ongoing company operations;

  • choosing specific mentors and primary Jumblies project or activity;

  • Sean Frey in the Naivelt Commune Re-enactment.

  • taking part in Jumblies seminars and workshops offered during the internship period;

  • demonstrating competency in core skill areas;

  • developing future plans with Jumblies’ guidance as needed.

We have a bursary fund for the shorter internships, particularly to make the program accessible to young, culturally diverse, low income and out-of-town participants. For longer periods, the interns need to find their own means of support and we can suggest some possible sources.

Practicum students from other programs may request to follow our internship process, but they are not eligible for our bursaries.

We are not bringing in any new interns until fall or winter 2009, but might take new applications in the spring or summer. If you would like to be placed on an info. list, please send a short expression of interest and a CV or bio to info@jumbliestheatre.org.

Jumblies internships are part of the Jumblies Studio, funded by the Ontario Trillium Foundation, the George Cedric Metcalf Charitable Foundation, the Toronto Community Foundation, with a bursary fund launched thanks to the Toronto Funding Network.
