We are delighted to welcome Julia Churchill as Jumblies 7th Metcalf Performing Arts Intern.

Julia is a musician and singer with many years experience in diverse forms of folk, electronic music, jazz, and sacred medieval music. Her interest in Community Arts stems from 4 years of involvement with the street involved in Toronto, working in a homeless shelter for men, and living in an intentional community of Hospitality in Parkdale. In 2009, she attended Jumblies Arts For All Essentials course, and undertook a short-term internship with Jumblies in spring 2010. She plans to use the skills she develops during her year with Jumblies, to launch her own community arts projects in the Guelph area, where she lives.

Jumblies previous Metcalf Interns were: Faye Dupras, Loree Lawrence, Lisa Marie DiLiberto, Sean Frey, Dan Watson and Beth Helmers. All of these artists continued to work in key positions with Jumblies as well as taking leadership in the arts and community arts worlds. Many thanks to the George Cedric Metcalf Foundation for this terrific support, not just for our company, but for the nurturing of our field.
