URGENT: Sign Friends of the Arts Petition

Calling on Toronto Councillors: Petition to Protect Arts Funding:

Toronto City Council plans to make deep cuts to the city budget, and this puts arts and cultural funding at serious risk. Cutting the arts could be an economic and social catastrophe for Toronto: not only does the city achieve a huge return on a relatively small investment, but our vibrant arts scene is also a big part of what makes Toronto a great place to live, work and visit.

Please send a message to the Mayor and your councillor telling them that arts funding should not be cut – to sign the Friends of the Arts petition, go to: http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/friendsofthearts/

Tale of a Town Queen West

Jumblies is ever so proud of our long-time associate artist and former Metcalf Foundation intern, Lisa Marie DiLiberto, who’s Tale of a Town Queen West (co-produced by her own Fixt-Point Theatre and Theatre Passe-Muraille) is opening at Theatre Passe Muraille this coming Wednesday Sept. 15th. The show includes other Jumblies-involved artists: director Varrick Grimes, projections designer Trevor Schwellnus and assistant designer Helah Cooper, and sound/video designer Charles Ketchabaw. It’s an extraordinary, hilarious and beautiful site-specific show. The audience capacity is small and its getting great media publicity – and so book your tickets right away so you don’t miss out!
