A series of gatherings and workshops about art that engages with and creates community

November 15-18, 2013
Boyle Street Community Centre, Meeting Rooms 1&2
Lead by Ruth Howard (Artistic Director of Jumblies) in collaboration with Don Bouzek (Artistic Director of GZP)

Friday, November 15
An introduction to the weekend’s themes and activities and next steps in developing an Edmonton community arts network – for both those who attended the entire weekend and those who could only come for the evening.

Saturday & Sunday, November 16 & 17
A hands-on experience of a Jumblies’ process, playing with a theme from Jumblies’ current projects, through activities including whimsical mapping, arts-based research and interdisciplinary performance. Participants had opportunities to explore and share their own ideas and approaches, and time to reflect on questions, challenges and insights arising from these explorations.

Monday, November 18
Closing session dedicated to further reflection, evaluation and future desires and plans.
