Jumblies offers internship/apprenticeship opportunities to artists from all disciplines, traditions, career stages and regions in Canada. Initial internships usually last from 4 to 12 weeks, and more advanced internships can extend for a full year or longer. The structure of the internships varies from year to year, project to project and person to person, but typically includes the following elements:

  • taking part in our Arts For All Essentials 6-day intensive workshop;
  • assisting Jumblies artists in a variety of workshops and activities;
  • contributing and participating in ongoing company activities;
  • choosing specific mentors and a primary project focus;
  • taking a role that suits individual learning interests and serves needs of Jumblies and Offshoots;
  • taking part in Jumblies seminars and workshops;
  • developing and demonstrating competency in core and individual skill areas;
  • receiving guidance for future plans and aspirations as needed.

Funding permitting, we can sometimes access bursaries for the shorter internships, or arrange for paid work-learn positions. Especially for longer periods, the interns usually need to find their own means of support and we can suggest some possible sources.

We will not be accepting any new interns until after the Feb. 12 Arts For All Essentials, and likely not until Fall 2012. If you would like to be placed on an info. list, please send a short expression of interest and a CV or bio to info@jumbliestheatre.org.
