The Sixth Canadian Community Play Exchange Symposium
Schedules, speakers and registration found here: symposium.mabellearts.ca
Timed to coincide with our production of Like An Old Tale, the symposium will bring together key figures in the Canadian community-engaged arts and community play worlds to share their work and thoughts. National delegates and presenters so far include: from British Columbia: Paula Jardine, Terry Hunter, jil p. weaving and Cathy Stubington; from Saskatchewan, Gerry Reucker; from Montreal, Rachael Van Fossen; from Nipissing First Nation, Penny Couchie and Sid Bobb.
The symposium will include public presentations, discussions, social gatherings, site visits, opportunities for project participants to mingle across communities and the opportunity to see our show. More details and registration instructions will be posted later in October.
The Canadian Community Play Exchange was formed in 2003 in Vancouver, over a sushi dinner, by a group of community-play-producing colleagues following the production of Vancouver Moving Theatre’s “In the Heart of A City”, out of a desire to foster ongoing connections, collaborations, dialogue and opportunities to see each other’s work.
